This page offers copies (updated in the academic year 2021–2) of the problem sheets and other materials for some of the First Year courses taken by Computer Science students. There is a page for tutors that also has model answers.

For ease of reference:

  • Computer Science students take all five of these courses.
  • Computer Science & Philosophy students take Discrete Maths, Probability and Algorithms.
  • Mathematics and Computer Science students take Probability, Algorithms, Continuous Maths and a Linear Algebra course taught by the Maths Institute, and pick up what they need to know about Discrete Maths as they go along. They have their Probability tutorials with the Maths students, not with us.

Linear Algebra

Odd-numbered sheets are for self-study* with answers provided to students, even numbered sheets are for tutorials with answers for tutors only.
