An annoying problem is that the rechargeable battery pack protrudes from the back of the NXT brick, making it one unit thicker than standard. This affects a number of the model designs that come with the NXT 2.0 set, including Robogator, and the humanoid Alpha Rex.
It's possible to find modified instructions for Alpha Rex online, but they pertain to a previous version of Alpha Rex, perhaps the one for NXT 1.0. Actually, modifying the instructions for NXT 2.0 is easily done, though the sparse collection of parts that are not needed for the rest of the model makes the modification a bit fiddly.
I've also devised a slightly different design for Robogator that I'll post here when the files are ready.
