The website biblehub.com provides an interactive interlinear translation of the Greek New Testament that is really nice to use online, in that clicking on the apparatus attached to each word give immediate access to definitions and concordance information. Nevertheless, it's sometimes convenient to have the text on paper for indivisual study or class use. Sadly, the website as it stands has a print stylesheet that does not replicate the convenient online layout. With a bit of tweaking, however, it's possible to produce a printed version of what you see on the screen.

With Google Chrome's developer tools ...

  • Delete the reference to the print stylesheet from the page head, and make the screen stylesheet apply to any media.
  • Choose Developer Tools/More Tools/Rendering and set to emulate print layout before editing further.
  • Delete HTML elements that produce the page header and the controls at the sides and bottom of the layout.
  • Modify CSS for the div element maintable2 to remove the settings of margin-left and margin-right.
  • Add CSS to the class .tablefloat that's applied to the little table for each word, setting the property break-inside to avoid. This stops page breaks from interrupting the multiline display of a word.
  • Look for bad breaks after headings, and use break-before: page to force a page break before them. It won't work to apply break-after: avoid, because the following material is floating.

The result is a page that you can save with Print to PDF without loss of resolution – much better than a screenshot!
